The Halifax Jollof Festival is a vibrant celebration of food, culture, and community inspired by one of West Africa’s most beloved dishes — Jollof rice.

Around the world, Jollof rice is more than just a meal. It is a symbol of hospitality, celebration, and friendly rivalry. Families debate whose recipe is best, friends gather around steaming pots at parties, and communities come together through the shared experience of food.

Now, that spirit arrives in Halifax.

The Halifax Jollof Festival brings together chefs, food vendors, musicians, artists, and food lovers for a day of incredible flavor and cultural celebration. Guests will enjoy delicious variations of Jollof rice prepared by talented cooks, explore African and international cuisine, experience live music and entertainment, and connect with the rich traditions behind the food.

Whether you are tasting Jollof for the first time or you grew up with it at every celebration, the festival offers something for everyone.

More than a food event, the Halifax Jollof Festival is a celebration of culture, community, and the growing global spirit of Halifax.

Come hungry.
Come curious.
Come celebrate.
